Extra Hours!
After the main festival was restricted to a mere four-hour duration, we asked the local community to tell us about other events happening on May 9th, so that attendees would find additional reasons to come visit Waltham. These have become “Extra Hours” for the day!
Note that all these events are being run by the individual organizations, not the Watch City Steampunk Festival. If you have questions, you should contact them directly.
Red cross blood drive
The Watch City Steampunk Festival/Heinlein Society Blood Drive will take place at First Parish in Waltham on Saturday, May 9th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. You can arrive early, donate, help people in need, and still attend the festival! Come to give blood or platelets with the Red Cross May 1-17 and get a $20 Amazon Gift Card by email from Amazon! Visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and search for zip code 02452 on May 9th to sign up.
Waltham pride poetry open mic at the waltham museum
Join Waltham Pride for a poetry open mic event at The Waltham Museum! The event will run from 4:00pm to 5:00pm inside The Waltham Museum at 25 Lexington Street, very near Waltham Common.
Make Your Own Golem
Join Waltham’s Temple Beth Israel to make your own Golem of Prague! Make your own “Golem” with clay, eat turn of the century Jewish foods, and hear the story that inspired Frankenstein all on our front lawn!
Come to 25 Harvard St between 4:30pm and 6:30pm. It is recommended that you arrive no later than 6:00pm to have enough time for the activity.
RSVP requested by May 5 to office@tbiwaltham.org so they can get an idea of how many are coming. Parking is available in the back of the Synagogue.
