Watch City Steampunk Festival

Centered on Waltham’s beautiful Common at the corner of Main and Moody Streets, the Watch City Steampunk Festival is the great outdoor festival of the Steampunk genre—a cultural and social movement melding elements of Victorian-era history and fashion with retro-futuristic technology.

Watch City 2015 will featuring a broad array of theatrical and musical performers as well as clothing, jewelry, art, and food vendors. The Festival is will also include kids programming, making this most definitely a family friendly event, as well.

Getting to the Festival

The Watch City Steampunk Festival takes place primarily on Waltham Common in downtown Waltham, MA.

Public Transportation

We highly recommend taking public transportation to the Festival. Here are some options:

  • Take the MBTA Commuter Rail to the Waltham stop on the Fitchburg line. That drops you off right next to Waltham Common.

  • Take the T to the Alewife Station and use our free Alewife Shuttle.

  • Take an MBTA Bus: There are several bus stops near Waltham Common. Please note that Carter Street will be closed to traffic and the buses will stop somewhere nearby, but not exactly as shown on the map. Aim for the stops along Main Street.

Arriving by Car

For rideshare/GPS users, if you enter 610 Main Street in Waltham, that will take you to Waltham City Hall, which sits at the corner of Main Street and Elm Street. From there, see the information below to find parking.

A number of spaces will be reserved in the parking lot behind City Hall for handicapped users and are first-come first-served. Otherwise we recommend the Central Square Parking Deck, the Embassy Parking Facility, or one of the other public parking lots in Waltham. Parking can fill up so we do recommend using public transportation if possible, and getting here early if not.

Waltham offers the “Pay by Phone” app as a way to pay for parking.

Instructions for Time Travelers

Make sure your time-space chrononavigation coordinates are set to May 11th, 2024 at 10:00am. May 13th of 2023 was pretty good too, if you want to relive that one. 2020 and 2021 were virtual events, unless you travel to an alternate timeline where we had live festivals (let us know how those went!).
