Watch City Steampunk Festival

Centered on Waltham’s beautiful Common at the corner of Main and Moody Streets, the Watch City Steampunk Festival is the great outdoor festival of the Steampunk genre—a cultural and social movement melding elements of Victorian-era history and fashion with retro-futuristic technology.

Watch City 2015 will featuring a broad array of theatrical and musical performers as well as clothing, jewelry, art, and food vendors. The Festival is will also include kids programming, making this most definitely a family friendly event, as well.

The 2016 Watch City Steampunk Festival will feature Victorian-era calliopes, high-wheeling PennyFarthing bicycles, costumed performers, musicians, lectures and panel discussions, and an open-air market with a large collection of unique vendors peddling all things Steampunk!

As in past years, this year's Festival is centered on Waltham Common. A beautiful setting for an outdoor Festival if ever there was one, the Common features a gazebo for live performances, and a network of footpaths for merchants of all stripes. - We're very excited to announce that again, this year, Carter Street at the southern edge of the Common will be closed to vehicular traffic and thereby included in the Festival footprint. Here visitors will find a great selection of tasty treats from some of Greater Boston's most loved food trucks.

We're excited to share, as well, that the 2016 Festival footprint also includes the Waltham Public Library, the Waltham Farmers' Market at their School Street home, the Waltham Museum on Lexington Street.  Additional outdoor performances will take place at Margarita's Plaza  Embassy Park on lower Moody Street, and a rich array of artists, thinkers, and performers on Festival Day!

Finally, as with past Watch City Steampunk Festivals, in 2016 we also have a Festival plotline tracing a dramatic arc.  This year: the recent damage Watch City has suffered at the whims of the Kraken "Leviatha"  dose battle with the Robot "Wallace" who the city's scientist have created to deal with her.
